Seagull Flyer 2006, Video Game (Click on link to play. Use arrow keys!). You are a sea gull catching french fries, randomly thrown in to the sky by beach patrons.
Sound Shack 2006, Public Art Project We built a structure with inbuilt electronic intruments, such as a drawing board that makes a soft fluctuating stringy drone when drawn on. We also made listening masks, conducted interviews, designed posters and performed sound experiments.
Dots 2006, Interactive Animation (only interactive in real life) An animation connected to a light sensor. The colors and sound change depending on the amount of light hitting the sensor. I animated and programmed this in Flash. You will see Veronica De Jesus's Dino Wrangler drawings and video footage from John O'Malley. John also built an awesome console that housed this project. He's a great artist and architect!
Taxi 2006, Animation A very short animation of a drive through San Francisco.
Sonic Dance Pants 2006, Interactive Clothing Old beat up pants with a constellation of pitch-altering stars sewn on with conductive thread. Rubbing the wired patches to the stars causes the strength of the circuit to alter, which in turn changes the pitch. I made this at the Scrapyard Challenge in LA at Machine Project. Not recommended for air travel.
City Soundscape 2006, Flash Interactive I made this Flash project as a mock-up for the development of the Exploratorium's Soundscape Constructor, built by Chach Sikes and dreamt up by Dia Felix. The idea is to experiment with how different sounds make up a city soundscape.
San Francisco History 2005, Animated Slideshow I mined the SF Public Library photo archives for old pictures of the city for this piece, which was shown at a Sound Shack event in the Mission District. I was especially interested in gathering pictures that touch on wealth distribution: The Palace Hotel, Gold Miners, Prostitutes, the General Strikes.
Grass-Growing Time 2004, Digital Clock I programmed this clock with Processing. You can tell what time it is by the length of the grass and the color of the background. I did this with much help from my teacher, Krister Olsson.
Hair Stylin' Salon 2004, Drawing Program Get your hair did in this little drawing program I made with Processing. I did this with much help from my teacher, Krister Olsson.
